Mental Health Coordinator, and Youth Mentor
Affectionately known as “Coach Joe,” Joseph Allender provides mindful, compassionate care for young talent, focusing on mental health and personal development. A retired correctional officer, Coach Joe brings years of experience mentoring youth and creating safe, supportive environments. Certified in CPR and Emergency Trauma Care, he ensures that Requity students have the tools they need to thrive both personally and professionally.
A proud graduate of Carver Vocational-Technical High School (Class of 1989) and an inductee into Carver’s Hall of Fame (2015), Coach Joe embodies the values of leadership, resilience, and service. Beyond his work with current students, Coach Joe plays a key role in maintaining Requity’s connection with Requity Alumni—students who have graduated from Carver, completed Requity programs, and transitioned into successful careers. By fostering this ongoing relationship, Coach Joe ensures alumni remain part of the Requity network, providing guidance and support while leveraging their experiences to inspire and mentor the next generation of students.

Director of Architecture & Education
As the Director of Architecture and Education Programs, Timmy is passionate about applying Passive House design principles and teaching high-performance building methods. With a background that began with Doma Architecture in NYC, Timmy collaboratively engages in architecture projects locally and internationally. He holds a Physics Degree from Trinity College, Oxford University, a BA from Cooper Union, and an MS in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

Career Advancement/ Social Media and Marketing Manager
Kayla works directly with students in advancing careers by bridging the gap between education and the professional world, guiding students towards successful careers and providing them with foundational knowledge necessary for success. She is driven by a desire to create opportunities and foster growth with the community and its youth.

Operations Manager
Bria Evans is a dedicated advocate for community development and youth empowerment. As an OSI Fellow and the Operations Manager at Requity Foundation, Bria works closely with youth to create opportunities that foster growth, success, and a brighter future. Her passion for seeing others succeed drives her work, and she finds great joy in supporting and uplifting those around her.
In addition to her role at Requity, Bria is the founder of Haven for the Homeless, a nonprofit organization committed to providing essential services and support to individuals experiencing homelessness. She also channels her love for people into her private catering business, where she takes pride in bringing joy through food.

Lindsay Jones is a skilled Mason with over 35 years of experience in the trade. As the owner of Jones Masonry, he is dedicated to delivering high-quality masonry work while maintaining the highest standards of safety on every project. He believes that doing the job correctly the first time is crucial for long-lasting results and customer satisfaction. A former Masonry teacher for 16 years at Carver Vocational-Technical High School, Jones now works hand-in-hand with high-schoolers mentoring the next generation of skilled tradespeople. His commitment to safety, quality, and lasting effects has earned him a strong reputation in the industry.

Program Manager & Community Engagement Specialist
EJ leads our community facing programming "Pleasant Presstman". Her commitment to the community spans 34 years. EJ has helped to define Requity's community footprint, and visual tracking mechanism to measure progress and impact.

Marketing Manager
A 2023 graduate of Carver, Wendell oversees content and social media creation and analytics. Additionally, Wendell works with a team of interactive media vocational high school students to document various Requity initiatives.
In 2023, Wendell was awarded the prestigious Harbor Bank of Maryland Marketing Manager Internship.

Founder, Executive Director
As the Founder and Executive Director, Michael steers Requity's mission and vision while efficiently managing the team and daily operations. Leveraging his diverse background in manufacturing, finance, education, and entrepreneurship, he channels resources and sustainable initiatives to communities grappling with systemic disinvestment and historical discriminatory policies. Michael holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Community Outreach Coordinator

Jason Turnage, a graduate of Carver High School's class of 2019, brings valuable experience in carpentry, coaching, and mentoring. He currently works full-time for Durex Covering, an epoxy company. In addition to his job, Jason assists Tyrone and Jones in building a house with students, using his carpentry skills to teach and mentor the next generation while still learning from more experienced instructors.
